Onecote Village Hall History

Onecote Village Hall was originally built as the village school in1872.  There were 47 children on it's books by 1875.  A voluntary school board was formed in 1878 and the school house next door was built in 1880.  The school had originally been an all age school but become a junior school in the early 1940s.  Onecote County Primary School finally closed as a school in 1984.  In 1992 the school building started to be used as a village hall under the ownership of the Lichfiled Diocese.  The building was eventually purchased by the community of Onecote in 1999.
